What is hypnosis?
The relaxed state that occurs under hypnosis has been compared to a state of deep meditation or transcendence, in which the recuperative abilities of the psyche are allowed to flow more freely. In this natural relaxed state, one can achieve greater clarity regarding personal wants and needs, explore other events or periods of life requiring resolution, or generally develop a more positive attitude.
Have you ever daydreamed? Have you ever been driving and found that you have traveled a distance without remembering the road? You were in a trance state, a form of self-hypnosis.
Can you be hypnotized? Anyone with imagination and willingness to participate can be hypnotized. Once hypnotized, you will never do anything against your will.
What is a post-hypnotic suggestion? While you are in a trance state and relaxed, your subconscious is open to receive suggestion. A positive suggestion, of your choice, is repeated in several ways while you are in this trance state. Some types of suggestions are about healthy eating habits, being a non-smoker, being an active listener, being calm and focused during tests, etc.
What is a trance state? Trance states are normal daily fluctuations from the active Beta to the Alpha, Theta and Delta brain waves. To move from a Beta wave pattern to an Alpha or Theta pattern, simple relaxation exercises are used like guided imagery.
